When a charge is disputed, we apply a holdback. The holdback amount is equivalent to the transaction amount disputed. If the transaction is successfully disputed (or chargeback filed) against the merchant, the merchant needs to refund (the chargeback amount only) to the credit cardholder. Although there are no additional fees for this operation, the fees of the initial charge won’t be returned to the merchant balance. Otherwise, the payment will be released back to the merchant.
